Responsibilities
- Own the target-state architecture, canonical work model, composable module architecture, and reusable application patterns for a unified platform.
- Design multi-tenant isolation, identity, authorization, and security controls across user-facing applications, data, integrations, and background processing.
- Build Azure cloud-native applications, including business logic for a new data and analytics platform, using Azure PaaS services.
- Develop resilient integrations with third-party systems using versioned contracts, anti-corruption adapters, idempotent write-back, reconciliation, and graceful degradation.
- Modernize on-premises and monolithic .NET Framework, WCF, and SQL applications incrementally without disrupting business operations.
- Lead application data design, legacy data migration, data quality, auditability, reconciliation, and safe deployment practices.
- Deliver applications through the platform team's paved path with CI/CD, automated testing, quality gates, security gates, observability, and incident-response practices.
- Set engineering standards and provide hands-on technical leadership through design decisions, code reviews, mentoring, and architecture decision records.
Requirements
- 10+ years building and operating production applications and services, including architecture ownership and cross-functional delivery leadership.
- Experience architecting multi-tenant applications with customer data isolation, external and workforce identity, fine-grained authorization, and row-level security.
- Experience building orchestration or experience layers over third-party systems of record using API facades, backend-for-frontend patterns, anti-corruption layers, canonical models, versioned contracts, event-driven synchronization, and resilient integrations.
- Deep expertise in at least one modern cloud language, with C#/.NET as the largest footprint, and production fluency in languages such as Java, Go, Python, or Node.js/TypeScript.
- Experience modernizing monolithic, on-premises, or legacy applications to cloud-native patterns and consolidating applications into a unified platform.
- Hands-on Azure PaaS application development with services such as App Service or Container Apps, managed identity, Key Vault, and Service Bus or equivalent messaging.
- Full-stack capability with a component-based TypeScript web UI, shared design systems, and plugin or micro-frontend architectures.
- Strong relational data modeling and migration experience with attention to data quality, auditability, and reconciliation.
- Experience with secure application development, authentication, authorization, input validation, encryption, secrets management, OWASP practices, and SOC 2 controls.
- Experience delivering through GitHub Actions, GitHub Enterprise, or equivalent tools with pull requests, automated testing, and quality and security gates.
- Demonstrated technical leadership without formal authority and comfort serving as the first and lead application engineer across greenfield development and legacy modernization.
- Preferred qualifications include plugin-based platform architecture, policy engines, data-dense client interfaces, professional-services or accounting platform integrations, build-versus-buy judgment, incremental modernization patterns, audit-cycle experience, relevant industry experience, and AZ-204, AZ-305, or related certifications.
