Responsibilities

  • Create control algorithms, download source code to controllers, manage system databases, and implement animated graphical user interfaces.
  • Integrate multiple systems and communication protocols while establishing front ends for multiple platforms.
  • Perform project start-ups, commissioning, testing, troubleshooting, and final inspections of BAS controls and mechanical systems.
  • Analyze system operations through semi-complex reports and verify system performance against contracted scope.
  • Coordinate with equipment vendors and customer IT personnel on protocols, encryption, databases, network drops, IP addresses, and monitoring tools.
  • Provide system documentation to application engineering teams for as-built drawings.
  • Train end users and controls technicians on BAS operation, maintenance, repair, and care.
  • Provide technical support and help deliver successful customer project outcomes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum of three years of temperature building automation and controls experience preferred; other technical experience may qualify at local management’s discretion.
  • Strong understanding of HVAC operations within a facility.
  • Ability to configure and debug computer and networking problems.
  • Ability to troubleshoot basic electrical and electronic circuitry and interpret electrical and electronic diagrams.
  • Working knowledge of AC power circuitry, including breakers and multiphase power at 120VAC and greater.
  • Experience with Niagara Tridium, Johnson Controls, Siemens, Automated Logic Controls, and/or Alerton preferred.
  • Working knowledge of computer operating systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong customer service, verbal and written communication, and creative problem-solving skills.
