Base Salary
$100k - $167k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain software applications and automation tools for engineering, manufacturing, and field operations.
- Troubleshoot complex issues involving software, Linux systems, networking, embedded devices, and hardware interactions.
- Develop tools that improve product quality, system validation, and engineering productivity.
- Investigate failures through log analysis, diagnostics, and root cause analysis.
- Work with embedded devices, networked equipment, and hardware peripherals.
- Contribute to software architecture, design reviews, testing strategies, and code-quality initiatives.
- Collaborate across engineering disciplines and support engineering, manufacturing, and field teams with complex issue resolution.
- Create technical documentation, troubleshooting guides, and deployment procedures.
- Lead or mentor junior engineers and help drive software quality initiatives.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- 5–8 years of proven software engineering experience with demonstrated depth in Linux systems and software development.
- Hands-on software development, debugging, and troubleshooting of complex systems.
- Proficiency in C/C++ preferred, or proficiency in another common programming language with C/C++ experience.
- Knowledge of software design, architecture, object-oriented principles, Git, source control, Linux administration, virtualization, containers, networking, and embedded systems.
- Experience developing Linux applications, Android applications, publish/subscribe systems, and embedded Linux software.
- Experience with network diagnostics, packet analysis, hardware/software integration, and troubleshooting embedded systems.
- Experience leading or mentoring junior engineers, conducting design reviews, and driving software quality initiatives.
- Machine learning or AI-assisted tooling experience is a plus.
- Avionics, aerospace, or embedded systems experience is a plus.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
