Base Salary
$240k - $285k/yr
Responsibilities
- Lead technical strategy for critical Banking initiatives across multiple teams.
- Design and evolve reliable, scalable systems for money movement, bank account experiences, payment orchestration, and financial infrastructure.
- Translate complex business and regulatory requirements into durable technical solutions with cross-functional partners.
- Identify and resolve systemic reliability, quality, and operability issues while improving observability, incident prevention, and engineering standards.
- Drive architecture reviews, align stakeholders, and guide technical tradeoffs in ambiguous environments.
- Mentor senior engineers and emerging technical leaders across the Banking organization.
- Contribute hands-on through design, debugging, rollout strategy, and implementation for high-stakes initiatives and critical decisions.
Requirements
- At least 8 years of software engineering experience, including senior technical leadership on complex, multi-team initiatives.
- Experience leading architecture and delivery for large-scale distributed systems in a product or platform engineering environment.
- Ability to simplify complex technical and organizational problems into clear, actionable plans.
- Experience improving reliability, operational excellence, and engineering quality in production systems with meaningful customer or business impact.
- Ability to collaborate across engineering, product, design, operations, compliance, risk, and other functions.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to influence senior stakeholders without direct authority.
- Hands-on technical depth and sound engineering judgment, including the ability to work through implementation details.
- Experience mentoring senior engineers and scaling technical leadership across an organization.
- Preferred experience in fintech, banking, payments, ledgering, or money movement systems.
- Preferred experience working in highly regulated environments.
- Preferred experience leading large migrations, platform consolidations, or service modernization efforts.
- Preferred experience integrating external financial or infrastructure partners into critical product flows.
- Preferred experience defining technical strategy for organization-level investments spanning product, platform, and operational workflows.
Benefits
- Based in the Vancouver office with a hybrid schedule requiring three days per week in the office on Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday.
