Responsibilities
- Work with a globally distributed team on data storage mechanisms and query capabilities.
- Serve as an expert in the storage engine area, providing guidance and improvements.
- Contribute to Elasticsearch by building new features and fixing bugs.
- Design and implement advanced algorithms and data structures.
- Engage with the community to triage and resolve issues and pull requests.
- Write idiomatic modern Java code.
Requirements
- Strong core Java skills and familiarity with data structures and concurrency.
- Excellent understanding of concurrent and parallel programming principles.
- Background in applied data processing, including data structures and algorithms.
- Familiarity with storage systems and low-level OS abstractions.
- Ability to work autonomously and guide projects from start to finish.
- Solid software engineering foundations with a track record of high-quality solutions.
- Experience with data storage technologies like Elasticsearch, Solr, or MongoDB.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
