Responsibilities
- Work on multi-tenant distributed storage systems while balancing strategic infrastructure goals with immediate engineering needs.
- Build reliable, available, resilient, fault-tolerant, and self-healing services and infrastructure.
- Identify and configure metrics to detect incidents and measure service health, availability, and performance.
- Participate in a 24/7 on-call rotation for storage infrastructure issues.
- Optimize infrastructure performance from the application layer through the kernel.
- Partner with storage service teams to define SLOs, shape capacity plans, and ensure operational safety.
Requirements
- 6+ years of experience developing and operating distributed systems.
- Proficiency in Python, Go, or a similar programming language.
- Experience operating or supporting stateful storage or database systems at scale, including durability, consistency, and recovery trade-offs.
- Experience using and extending containerization technologies, particularly Kubernetes.
- Expertise with cloud infrastructure platforms such as AWS, Google Cloud Platform (GCP), or Azure.
- Understanding of Linux operating system internals and networking concepts including TCP/IP, DNS, TLS, and routing.
- Strong candidates may have experience leading storage architecture shifts and large-scale data or workload migrations.
- Strong candidates may have experience managing multi-cloud infrastructure across AWS, GCP, or Azure.
- Strong candidates may have experience designing secure, multi-tenant runtime environments at scale.
