Responsibilities
- Prepare technical design specifications and written knowledge-transfer materials.
- Review functional requirements, analysis, and design documents and provide feedback.
- Implement, test, maintain, support, and debug software based on technical specifications.
- Lead architecture, design, and implementation of robust, scalable web services and distributed systems.
- Improve existing codebases, conduct peer reviews, and identify opportunities for system and process improvement.
- Participate in architecture and code reviews and investigate new technologies.
- Mentor less experienced developers and lead project work where applicable.
- Assist customer support with technical problems and questions.
- Drive technical decisions and collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders on software delivery.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of professional experience is required, with additional requirements specifying 5 or more years in Java full-stack development.
- At least 2 years of experience developing systems or software for large business environments and Java Enterprise Edition.
- Strong object-oriented design and service-oriented architecture principles, preferably implemented in Java.
- Strong experience leading architecture, design, and implementation of robust, highly scalable web services.
- Experience with AWS and/or Azure SaaS infrastructure, DevOps technologies, and extensive debugging.
- Understanding of unit, test-driven, functional, and performance testing.
- Knowledge of SQL and NoSQL databases, data architecture, distributed systems, cloud big data, and machine learning technologies.
- Experience with React, Pulsar, and Snowflake is preferred.
- Experience with software security tools and best practices and at least one shell scripting language.
- Experience with cloud, DevOps, or AI modernization initiatives and strong understanding of LLMs, automation, and engineering toolchains.
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience; a master's degree is a plus.
- Strong communication, presentation, facilitation, organizational, interpersonal, customer-focus, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
