Responsibilities
- Prepare technical design specifications and written knowledge-transfer materials.
- Review requirements, analysis, and design documents and provide feedback.
- Implement, test, maintain, support, and improve software based on technical specifications.
- Lead architecture, design, implementation, and code reviews for robust and scalable web services.
- Identify system issues and improvement opportunities, develop standard operating procedures, and maintain existing codebases.
- Collaborate with colleagues and cross-functional stakeholders to implement technical designs and deliver projects.
- Investigate and apply relevant technologies, including AI-native engineering practices and modernization initiatives.
- Assist customer support with technical problems and questions.
- Lead or participate in projects while making independent technical decisions.
- Mentor less experienced developers and help guide engineering teams.
Requirements
- At least 12 years of experience in Java Enterprise Edition and at least 10 years developing systems or software for large business environments.
- The posting also specifies 15 years of experience in Java Full Stack Development and 10 or more years developing mission-critical, low-latency solutions.
- Strong object-oriented design and service-oriented architecture principles, preferably implemented with Java.
- Strong experience leading architecture, design, and implementation of robust, highly scalable web services.
- Experience with AWS and/or Azure SaaS infrastructure, DevOps technologies, extensive debugging, and cloud or AI modernization initiatives.
- At least 5 years of experience developing and debugging distributed systems and working with big data systems in the cloud.
- Understanding of unit, test-driven, functional, and performance testing.
- Experience with React, SQL and NoSQL databases, data architecture, Pulsar, and Snowflake is preferred.
- Experience with software security tools and best practices and at least one shell scripting language.
- Strong understanding of LLMs, automation, engineering toolchains, and applying AI innovation to business and productivity outcomes.
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience; a master's degree is a plus.
- Strong communication, presentation, facilitation, organizational, customer-focus, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
