Base Salary
$192k - $240k/yr
Responsibilities
- Build and maintain demos, sample apps, reference architectures, tutorials, and technical tools.
- Create technical content for developers, including blog posts, docs, videos, and talks.
- Represent Tailscale at events, conferences, and community moments.
- Work closely with engineering, product, marketing, and support teams to improve developer experiences.
- Help developers understand Tailscale’s core product and new areas like secure AI access.
- Contribute to open source projects and participate in public technical conversations.
- Define what great developer experience looks like at Tailscale.
Requirements
- Strong software engineering background with experience in building and shipping projects.
- Ability to write clear code samples, demos, and technical content.
- Deep curiosity about systems, especially in networking and security.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience speaking to technical audiences at events and workshops.
- Comfortable working in public via GitHub and community forums.
- Strong developer empathy and product sense.
- Ability to work cross-functionally with various teams.
- Comfortable operating independently and managing multiple projects.
- Willingness to travel for events and conferences.
- Bachelor’s degree in a related technical field or equivalent experience.
- A track record of building and explaining technical systems.
