Responsibilities
- Develop system and subsystem designs, interfaces, specifications, and implementation requirements for BlueCruise features.
- Refine use cases, functional requirements, targets, feature models, and software delivery plans.
- Support modeling changes, regression testing, test vectors, data review, issue identification, supplier interaction, replay testing, and bench testing.
- Develop and refine functional safety requirements, item definitions, hazard analyses, risk assessments, and functional safety concepts in compliance with ISO-26262 and Ford processes.
- Develop design validation methods, sign off feature-level performance, and support laboratory, track, and vehicle testing.
- Develop data analysis methods for track and real-world validation data to identify errors, failure modes, and performance issues.
- Coordinate with product, business, engineering, and supplier teams to develop new BlueCruise capabilities and manage functional development timing.
- Plan and execute real-world evaluations and use AI tools and agents to support evaluation, development, and design processes while checking their results.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Computer, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- At least two years of MATLAB/Simulink modeling experience in a professional or educational setting, in any combination.
- Software engineering and algorithm development experience using a language such as C, C++, Python, or MATLAB.
- Preferred: master’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Aerospace, Controls, Computer, or Software Engineering.
- Preferred: experience with ADAS features such as Adaptive Cruise Control, Blind Spot Systems, Lane Keeping, or Lane Centering Systems.
- Preferred: experience with computer vision, radar tracking, object detection and tracking, field-data analysis, model-based design, Kalman filtering, vehicle dynamics, and linear or nonlinear controls.
- Preferred: experience developing and conducting laboratory and vehicle tests, collecting and analyzing data, and using ML or AI tools in development cycles.
- Preferred: ability to lead a small project, demonstrate ownership, and improve existing processes.
- Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States; visa sponsorship is unavailable.
