Responsibilities

  • Design and implement embedded engine controls and diagnostic monitors in powertrain control module software.
  • Capture and maintain vehicle-control requirements and document changes using model-based design processes and tools.
  • Develop and validate C-based powertrain control algorithms for functional, emissions, performance, and functional-safety requirements.
  • Create and execute validation plans using simulation, SIL, MIL, HIL, and in-vehicle testing.
  • Manage software configuration and compatibility across vehicle programs and Gas, Diesel, HEV, and BEV powerpack configurations.
  • Troubleshoot fuel-path and diagnostic issues through data analysis, vehicle testing, and simulation, and validate corrective actions.
  • Maintain software descriptions, calibration guides, release notes, and requirements traceability documentation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, computer engineering, computer science, aerospace engineering, or a related field, or foreign-equivalency degree, or a combination of equivalent education and experience.
  • Three years of experience designing powertrain control algorithms and associated software functions.
  • Three years of experience programming embedded automotive controls in C.
  • Three years of experience testing and debugging automotive embedded controls.
  • Three years of experience developing C software for automotive powertrain systems.
  • Three years of experience with software version control, ClearCase, and GitHub.
  • Three years of experience with MATLAB Simulink software development and simulation.
  • Preferred qualifications include a master’s degree, fuel-injection and emissions-control experience, OBD-II fuel-system diagnostic experience, ISO 26262 Part 6 awareness, MISRA-C familiarity, and Scaled Agile Framework experience.
