Responsibilities
- Set overarching technical direction and standards across three engineering squads.
- Bridge Engineering, Data Science, and Infrastructure/Security teams.
- Lead the design, implementation, and optimization of internal and external API management, including API catalogs and gateways.
- Ensure Azure-based services are scalable, reliable, observable, thoroughly tested, confidently deployed, and supportive of a strong developer experience.
- Design robust, documented, versioned APIs and infrastructure for future product scaling and agentic AI tools.
- Define and implement a framework for developing, configuring, and maintaining AI agents and chatbots.
- Establish standards for AI-system security, token usage, compute costs, flexibility, reuse, and operational governance.
- Integrate the Model Context Protocol by exposing MCP for company services and enabling agents to call third-party MCPs.
- Align agentic capabilities with product goals and build a scalable foundation for the long-term AI roadmap.
- Champion best practices, mentor engineering teams through code reviews and design sessions, and explain complex architecture to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Requirements
- Deep expertise in Azure services, including AKS, App Service, Functions, Azure SQL, and Cosmos DB.
- Strong C#/.NET or Python background.
- Proficiency with Docker or Podman and Kubernetes.
- Proven ability to design clean, documented OpenAPI and versioned APIs based on business needs.
- Solid expertise with API gateways.
- At least initial professional experience with LLMs, embeddings, agentic AI frameworks, or agentic coding.
- Hands-on experience with Terraform, Bicep, or ARM templates.
- Deep understanding of the Azure Well-Architected Framework pillars.
- Strong leadership, communication, influencing, business-acumen, mentoring, and consensus-building skills.
- Knowledge of Aspire, MCP, multi-agent design patterns, Azure Service Bus, Event Hub, or Kafka is preferred.
