Responsibilities
- Own release readiness and quality sign-off, including quality gates, severity and priority models, and go/no-go release decisions.
- Build and improve API, UI, and CLI test automation using Python and other scripting languages.
- Lead customer escalations by reproducing, diagnosing, and driving resolution of live issues with support and customer teams.
- Analyze client and server logs and network captures to isolate failures in Windows and Linux client-server products.
- Define test strategies, identify coverage gaps and risks, and determine the appropriate manual and automated testing mix.
- Design, write, and maintain test cases and regression suites across supported platforms.
- Validate networking functionality including TCP/IP, DNS, TLS/DTLS, proxies, routing, VPN/ZTNA, certificates/PKI, firewalls, and authentication.
- Manage test execution and defects using TestRail or a similar test-management tool and Jira, and produce actionable reports and updates.
- Participate in product design discussions and ensure products are testable through appropriate platform and component design.
- Own engineering initiatives and promote continuous improvement and engineering excellence.
Requirements
- 12–18 years of experience in software or test engineering, including senior ownership of a product area or release.
- Proven experience in automation design, programming, and process optimization.
- Programming experience with Python.
- Strong networking fundamentals covering TCP/IP, DNS, TLS/DTLS, proxies, routing, and VPN/ZTNA concepts.
- Hands-on experience testing Windows and Linux client-server products.
- Proven ability to perform log analysis and root-cause investigations using client/server logs and network captures.
- Experience owning release readiness and sign-off under defined quality gates and severity/priority models.
- Experience with a test-management tool such as TestRail and defect tracking in Jira.
- Excellent written communication for bug reports, test summaries, and escalation updates.
- Ability to work with customers and support teams on live escalations under time pressure.
- Preferred experience with endpoint management, secure access gateways, or SASE.
- Preferred certificate/PKI, firewall, and authentication troubleshooting experience.
- Preferred test automation and scripting experience with API, UI, or CLI testing and Python, Bash, Go, or similar languages.
- Preferred familiarity with AWS test infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines, and Docker-based test or release workflows.
