Responsibilities
- Design and implement performance testing strategies for cloud management platforms and serverless applications.
- Develop, execute, and maintain performance test plans, scripts, and scenarios using JMeter, Gatling, Locust, or serverless testing frameworks.
- Monitor and analyze serverless application performance across AWS Lambda, Azure Functions, and Google Cloud Functions.
- Identify and troubleshoot bottlenecks involving cold starts, execution time, concurrency limits, resource utilization, scaling, and resource allocation.
- Optimize serverless application performance and costs through monitoring, tuning, and best practices.
- Integrate serverless performance testing into CI/CD pipelines in collaboration with development and SRE teams.
- Evaluate system performance, scalability, and capacity for serverless architectures.
- Use monitoring tools to track and report performance metrics, and develop tailored dashboards.
- Perform load and API performance testing for serverless applications and support performance testing for microservices-based systems.
- Stay current with serverless architectures, performance engineering practices, and industry trends.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of experience in performance testing and engineering.
- At least 4 years of experience with performance testing tools, performance monitoring tools, performance bottleneck optimization, scripting or programming languages, and cloud-based infrastructure.
- At least 2 years of experience with serverless performance monitoring and integrating performance tests into CI/CD pipelines.
- Hands-on experience with JMeter, Gatling, Locust, or serverless-specific testing frameworks.
- Strong experience with serverless architectures, particularly AWS Lambda, Google Cloud Functions, or Azure Functions.
- Strong expertise with AWS CloudWatch, Lambda Insights, Datadog, New Relic, or similar monitoring tools.
- Understanding of serverless performance concerns including cold starts, execution time, concurrency, and resource utilization.
- Proficiency in Python, Java, or similar scripting or programming languages.
- Experience troubleshooting serverless performance issues and conducting load testing at scale.
- Knowledge of performance tuning for serverless databases such as DynamoDB and Aurora Serverless.
- Familiarity with containerized serverless architectures such as AWS Fargate is preferred.
- Exposure to chaos engineering practices and API performance testing is preferred.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, independent-working, and collaboration skills.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
