Responsibilities
- Build and maintain test frameworks and tools for Oracle Database patch validation.
- Automate test execution, result collection, failure detection, and issue tracking across multiple release lines.
- Investigate failures using test results, source code, logs, stack traces, dumps, and database diagnostics.
- Debug Oracle Database server programs and develop fixes for complex software issues.
- Convert customer use cases into tests and improve existing test applications.
- Build AI agent workflows for failure summarization, issue grouping, and connecting test results with code changes or known bugs.
- Build connectors between AI agents and approved test systems, diagnostic data, and issue tracking tools.
- Evaluate AI workflows for coverage, repeatability, traceability, and reviewability.
- Design scalable software, APIs, performance optimizations, testing processes, monitoring, and observability.
- Provide technical guidance and coaching to less experienced engineers and lead code reviews.
- Collaborate with development, testing, release, product, and customer-facing teams to resolve issues and improve products.
- Coordinate moderately complex initiatives, prioritize work, improve processes, and participate in candidate interviews.
Requirements
- Proficiency in Python, Java, SQL, and PL/SQL.
- Strong foundations in data structures and algorithms and object-oriented programming.
- Experience developing software, test tools, or automation.
- Preferred experience with Perl or JavaScript.
- Preferred familiarity with Oracle Database architecture, processes, instances, connectivity, and configuration.
- Preferred experience reading alert logs, stack dumps, or other database diagnostics.
- Preferred experience building test harnesses, automation frameworks, or workflow tools.
- Preferred experience with AI coding assistants, LLMs, AI agents, or integrations between agents and engineering tools.
- Preferred experience testing AI workflows and making results traceable and reviewable.
- Preferred experience working across multiple operating systems and platforms.
