Responsibilities
- Develop and support global Progress applications through the full software development lifecycle.
- Deliver high-quality software solutions within agreed timeframes, budgets, project targets, and delivery dates.
- Perform application analysis, design, development, unit testing, code reviews, implementation, and continuous improvement.
- Provide support for existing applications in accordance with agreed service-level agreements.
- Investigate issues, identify root causes, and propose innovative solutions.
- Facilitate and support onsite deployments of major projects.
- Collaborate with teams across a global and multicultural organization while following company and technology-group policies.
- Protect confidential company data and perform other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Degree or third-level qualification in IT, or equivalent experience.
- Experience delivering software development projects successfully in a commercial environment.
- Experience developing applications with Progress 4GL and/or the Progress OpenEdge platform.
- Knowledge of Unix or Linux operating systems and commands.
- Knowledge of the full development lifecycle, including analysis, design, development, unit testing, code reviews, and implementation.
- Working knowledge of Progress databases, tables, and indexes.
- Exposure to querying relational databases.
- Working knowledge of EDI, XML, and JSON messaging.
- Knowledge of REST APIs is advantageous.
- Working knowledge of Zebra printers and ZPL coding is a plus.
- Strong communication, problem-solving, critical-thinking, collaboration, organization, and detail-oriented skills.
- Ability to work independently with limited direction, manage competing priorities, meet deadlines, and adapt to changing business demands.
- Fluency in English.
- Willingness and ability to travel to support onsite deployments.
