Responsibilities
- Design and develop scalable Java backend services, platform components, middleware systems, APIs, distributed services, and cloud-native applications.
- Build reusable frameworks, libraries, tools, and developer utilities to improve engineering productivity.
- Participate in architecture discussions, design reviews, performance optimization, scalability improvements, reliability initiatives, and code reviews.
- Collaborate with architects, DevOps, and engineering teams on CI/CD, observability, monitoring, and operational excellence.
- Troubleshoot distributed systems issues across services, databases, messaging systems, and cloud infrastructure.
- Perform debugging, root cause analysis, production support, and work to improve system reliability, resiliency, and operational visibility.
- Follow engineering best practices, coding standards, and continuous improvement practices while evaluating modern engineering tools.
Requirements
- 5–8 years of hands-on backend software development experience with SaaS products or distributed systems.
- Strong Java programming skills and understanding of object-oriented design, data structures, concurrency, and system design fundamentals.
- Experience building RESTful APIs, microservices, and distributed applications.
- Experience with messaging technologies such as Kafka, RabbitMQ, JMS, or similar systems.
- Exposure to CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices using Jenkins, GitLab, Docker, Kubernetes, or Helm.
- Strong understanding of databases, SQL optimization, data modeling, and NoSQL technologies such as Cassandra, MongoDB, or Redis.
- Familiarity with AWS, Azure, or private cloud environments and with scalability, resiliency, observability, and production-grade system design.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
- Preferred qualifications include experience with cloud security, cybersecurity, or enterprise SaaS platforms; performance engineering and observability; large-scale distributed systems; SRE concepts; and production reliability engineering.
- Interest in AI-assisted development tools such as Cursor, Windsurf, Claude Code, or GitHub Copilot, and basic understanding of MCP integrations, agentic workflows, RAG pipelines, AI-powered developer tooling, or LLM-based automation.
