Base Salary

$90k - $110k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain clean, testable C# and .NET code for Windows desktop applications.
  • Build desktop features using WPF, WinForms, or WinUI and established architectural patterns.
  • Design features, refactor legacy code, and support migration from .NET Framework to modern .NET.
  • Write responsive asynchronous UI code and integrate desktop clients with RESTful backend services.
  • Work with SQL and other local or remote data stores using Entity Framework or team-standard approaches.
  • Write and execute unit, integration, and UI automation tests.
  • Diagnose crashes, memory leaks, performance issues, and production defects using debugging and analysis tools.
  • Collaborate with QA to reproduce, triage, and resolve defects.
  • Contribute to Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelines and desktop installer, signing, packaging, deployment, and update mechanisms.
  • Review code, mentor junior developers, maintain documentation, and identify risks, blockers, and technical debt.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 2–5 years of professional software development experience or equivalent ability.
  • Strong proficiency in C# and .NET, including .NET 6+ and/or .NET Framework 4.x.
  • Hands-on experience developing Windows desktop applications with WPF, WinForms, or WinUI.
  • Understanding of MVVM, dependency injection, SOLID principles, and common design patterns.
  • Knowledge of asynchronous programming, threading, and desktop UI responsiveness.
  • Experience consuming RESTful services and working with SQL, JSON, and XML.
  • Proficiency with Visual Studio, Git, and CI/CD tools, preferably Azure DevOps.
  • Experience writing automated tests and debugging production issues.
  • Ability to manage daily development work independently with moderate supervision.
  • Strong communication, teamwork, problem-solving, continuous-learning, and growth-mindset capabilities.
  • Preferred: experience migrating .NET Framework applications, using Windows platform APIs, P/Invoke, or COM interop.
  • Preferred: experience with desktop installers, code signing, update or distribution mechanisms, performance profiling, memory analysis, AWS or Azure services, and graphics, drawing, or document-heavy applications.
