Responsibilities

  • Act as the technical authority for embedded motor-control software, control algorithms, and system behavior.
  • Lead architecture, design, implementation, validation, and release of embedded motor-control software through product launch.
  • Develop motor-control algorithms including FOC, six-step/trapezoidal control, sensorless back-EMF methods, observers, estimators, PID, adaptive control, and torque, speed, and position loops.
  • Develop real-time embedded firmware for PWM generation, ADC synchronization, and signal processing.
  • Model motor behavior, control designs, and system stability using MATLAB/Simulink.
  • Integrate and validate current and voltage sensing, signal scaling, offsets, and calibration with power-electronics and hardware teams.
  • Debug system-level issues involving firmware, control behavior, sensing, and power-stage operation.
  • Implement wired and wireless communication interfaces and embedded protection features.
  • Ensure compliance with safety requirements including Class B software under UL 60730.
  • Create design documentation, test plans, and validation reports.
  • Establish structured verification, black-box and white-box testing, peer-review, configuration-management, and repeatable-release processes.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentoring while supporting prototyping, validation, industrialization, pilot runs, production ramp-up, and production support.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related field; a master’s degree is preferred.
  • At least 10 years of experience in embedded systems, control systems, or electronics engineering.
  • At least 7 years of experience in motor-control systems for industrial equipment or drive applications.
  • Proven experience implementing motor-control algorithms such as FOC, PID control, observers, and sensorless methods on embedded platforms.
  • Strong hands-on real-time embedded firmware development experience using C/C++.
  • Experience designing and optimizing current, speed, and position control loops in real-world systems.
  • Experience with power-electronics systems, inverters, motor drives, and their interaction with control algorithms.
  • Practical experience with current and voltage sensing, signal conditioning, scaling, and calibration.
  • Experience debugging firmware, control, and hardware interactions at the system level.
  • Experience with MATLAB/Simulink or similar tools for control design, modeling, and validation.
  • Experience implementing or integrating UART, SPI, I2C, Modbus, BACnet, Bluetooth, and Wi-Fi communications.
  • Experience developing or supporting safety-critical embedded software such as UL 60730 or similar standards.
  • Experience across the full product lifecycle, including prototyping, validation, production support, and industrialization.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills, sound engineering judgment, and the ability to work across technical and non-technical groups.
  • Fluent English.
