Base Salary
$97k - $306k/yr
Responsibilities
- Envision, design, and drive development of new major OCI data-plane components and a high-scale key-value store.
- Define the foundations and architectural evolution of next-generation cloud data planes.
- Perform software development, operating-system-level design, debugging, prototyping, code reviews, and project bootstrapping.
- Provide strategic technical guidance to senior leadership and drive alignment across organization-wide initiatives.
- Collaborate with executives, architects, engineering managers, TPMs, and geographically distributed teams.
- Define and improve standard engineering practices, service automation, instrumentation, operational excellence, and customer-focused quality.
- Mentor and guide junior team members and help align engineers with shared objectives.
Requirements
- 10+ years of relevant engineering, architecture, or development/operational experience.
- Strong experience with C and C++, with willingness to work on Rust.
- Strong experience building high-concurrency systems and low-level, performance-critical software and services.
- Experience with high-performance distributed storage, write-ahead logging, B-tree or LSM-tree indexing, data partitioning/sharding, Raft, Paxos or Multi-Paxos, MVCC, and distributed transactions.
- Expert knowledge of cloud infrastructure concepts and technologies.
- Demonstrated ability to lead large cloud-scale projects and provide strategic technical guidance.
- Significant experience in startup or fast-paced enterprise technology environments.
- Strong mentorship, communication, organization, interpersonal, analytical, and research abilities.
- Ability to work in complex, rapidly evolving software development environments, learn technologies quickly, and improve cross-team processes.
- Experience working with geographically distributed teams.
