Responsibilities
- Design, build, and own critical Fabric Gateway systems from the ground up.
- Lead architecture decisions for fast, reliable, high-throughput distributed systems that scale horizontally.
- Drive technical direction, establish engineering patterns, and make high-leverage architectural decisions.
- Own observability, performance, reliability, SLA targets, monitoring, and on-call operations end to end.
- Collaborate with engineering management and product management to scope milestones and deliver toward Early Access and GA.
- Participate in design and code reviews, raise engineering standards, and mentor fellow engineers.
Requirements
- 6+ years of experience building infrastructure-level or platform software in cloud-native or SaaS environments.
- Proven experience taking a system from whiteboard to production and operating it at scale.
- Deep expertise designing distributed systems that handle high throughput, remain resilient under load, and scale horizontally.
- Proficiency in Go and strong systems programming and performance-sensitive coding fundamentals.
- Knowledge of mTLS, JWT, OAuth 2.0, and RBAC/ABAC security primitives.
- Ability to take ownership of reliability, performance, and security concerns.
- Strong communication skills and comfort working in fast-moving, ambiguous environments.
- Prior experience building or extending platform or gateway products is preferred.
- Familiarity with HTTP/2, gRPC, WebSockets, Helm, Kubernetes operators, and CRDs is preferred.
- Contributions to open-source infrastructure or developer tooling and experience in an early-stage 0-to-1 environment are preferred.
