Responsibilities
- Prepare technical design specifications and written knowledge-transfer materials.
- Review requirements, analysis, and design documents and provide feedback.
- Implement, test, maintain, and support software based on technical specifications.
- Lead architecture, design, implementation, code reviews, and technical direction for scalable web services and SaaS products.
- Improve system quality by identifying issues and patterns, creating standard operating procedures, and enhancing existing codebases.
- Investigate and apply relevant new technologies, including AI-native engineering practices.
- Collaborate with colleagues and customer support to resolve technical issues and questions.
- Mentor less experienced developers and lead project work as needed.
- Work across business strategy, product strategy, technical design, and implementation while making independent decisions.
Requirements
- At least 8 years of Java Full Stack Development experience.
- At least 7.5 years of professional experience developing systems or software for large business environments.
- Strong object-oriented design and service-oriented architecture principles, preferably implemented in Java.
- Strong experience leading architecture, design, and implementation of robust, highly scalable web services.
- Experience with AWS and/or Azure SaaS infrastructure, CI/CD and DevOps technologies, and extensive debugging.
- Understanding of unit, test-driven, functional, and performance testing.
- Knowledge of SQL and NoSQL database systems, data architecture, distributed systems, cloud big data systems, and machine learning.
- At least 5 years of experience developing and debugging distributed systems and working with big data systems in the cloud.
- At least 5 years of experience developing mission-critical, low-latency solutions for large business environments.
- Experience with software security-enhancing tools and practices and at least one shell scripting language.
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience; a master's degree is preferred.
- Strong understanding of LLMs, automation, engineering toolchains, cloud, DevOps, or AI modernization initiatives.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, organizational, presentation, facilitation, customer-focus, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
