Senior Software Engineer - Backend (Core)

Base Salary
$190k - $200k/yr
Responsibilities
- Architect, develop, and maintain scalable backend services and APIs using Python, FastAPI, SQLAlchemy, and AWS.
- Build features for data ingestion, third-party integrations including Slack, HubSpot, and Notion, authentication and authorization, security, and compliance.
- Own the full software development lifecycle from requirements gathering and design through implementation, testing, deployment, and monitoring.
- Collaborate with product managers, frontend engineers, and data scientists to deliver product solutions.
- Drive technical excellence through code reviews, mentorship, and software engineering best practices.
- Participate in on-call rotations and improve backend operational excellence, reliability, observability, performance, and scalability.
Requirements
- 7+ years of professional experience in backend software engineering and a strong record of shipping production systems.
- Proficiency in Python or similar languages such as Java, C++, or Node.js.
- Experience designing and building distributed, cloud-native systems, preferably on AWS.
- Deep understanding of API design, OAuth2, JWT, authentication and authorization, and security best practices.
- Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code using Terraform and modern DevOps practices.
- Experience with Docker and Kubernetes is a plus.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to explain complex technical concepts to technical and non-technical audiences.
- Experience in a startup or fast-paced environment is highly valued.
