Responsibilities
- Understand the current LPM model and the problem it addresses.
- Extend reinforcement-learning infrastructure and conduct experiments on the RL system.
- Tune parameters and compare experimental results with existing results.
- Identify promising RL technologies and apply them to Waymo’s autonomous-driving problems.
Requirements
- Currently pursuing a master’s or PhD in software engineering, machine learning, or a related technical field.
- Fundamental understanding of machine learning and reinforcement learning.
- At least 2 years of project experience involving coding and demonstrated achievements.
- Preferred: 3+ years of hands-on ML or RL project experience.
- Preferred: 2+ years optimizing simulation, ML/RL, or other backend system infrastructure.
- Preferred: experience with autonomous driving or related technologies.
