Base Salary
$103k - $174k/yr
Responsibilities
- Work with software, processor-in-the-loop, and hardware-in-the-loop simulators representing the eVTOL system.
- Design, execute, and maintain test cases, test plans, test procedures, test reports, and supporting certification documentation.
- Develop expertise in flight-critical software components and own the software verification process.
- Participate in product design reviews and provide input on requirements, designs, schedules, and potential problems.
- Document and report software defects using a bug-tracking system.
- Identify, analyze, and document problems with program functionality, user interfaces, or content.
- Collaborate with Embedded, Flight Sensors, and Control Law developers to achieve test objectives.
- Support Joby’s S4 on-site testing, including some overnight travel.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Mechanical Engineering, or Aerospace Engineering and 3+ years of industry experience in quality assurance or test engineering.
- An advanced degree and 1+ years of experience may also be considered.
- Background in software testing and verification on embedded systems, including interfacing with embedded software and electronic hardware.
- Experience developing, executing, and reporting manual test cases, debugging and troubleshooting, and reporting defects and quality metrics.
- Experience with project management, bug-tracking, and continuous integration tools such as JIRA, Jenkins, and Team City.
- Knowledge of requirements-based testing and DO-178C software certification guidelines is desired.
- Awareness of DO-331 model-based development and verification is desired.
- Programming experience with MATLAB and Simulink, and familiarity with Polarion or similar requirements-management tools, are desired.
- Robotics projects, drone experience, aircraft piloting, avionics hardware, electric cars, Python, shell scripting, and networking fundamentals are desired.
