Responsibilities
- Build, maintain, and optimize Azure-based data pipelines and workflows using Azure Data Factory, ADLS Gen2, Synapse Analytics, Azure SQL, Python, and SQL.
- Support batch and near-real-time data ingestion, transformation, enrichment, and aggregation for analytics- and reporting-ready datasets.
- Implement data quality checks, schema management, and validation for reliable and documented data.
- Build secure pipelines, integrate structured and unstructured data, and support NLP and machine learning workloads.
- Configure, monitor, and enhance enterprise AI capabilities across Azure and other approved platforms.
- Ensure compliance with federal architecture standards, enterprise architecture guidelines, and security controls.
- Produce architecture artifacts, test plans, security documentation, and operational runbooks.
- Contribute to CI/CD pipelines, monitoring, troubleshooting, and performance tuning for reliable data operations.
- Collaborate with engineers, analysts, and stakeholders in Agile teams to deliver defined data requirements.
Requirements
- U.S. citizenship and the ability to secure a public trust clearance are required.
- At least 3 years of hands-on experience developing and deploying AI/ML solutions in production environments.
- Strong Python proficiency, including experience with Pandas, NumPy, scikit-learn, PyTorch, or TensorFlow.
- Understanding of machine learning concepts, model selection, training, validation, and evaluation techniques.
- Experience with Azure Machine Learning, Azure Data Lake Storage (ADLS Gen2), Azure Synapse Analytics, and Azure Data Factory.
- Working knowledge of MLOps, CI/CD pipelines, version control, and model lifecycle management.
- Experience collaborating in Agile development environments and using tools such as Azure DevOps or GitHub.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Microsoft Certified: Azure AI Engineer Associate certification is preferred.
- Experience with Copilot Studio or AI agent development, including orchestration and API and data-source integration, is preferred.
- Familiarity with feature stores, vector databases, retrieval-augmented generation patterns, event-driven or streaming architectures such as Azure Event Hubs, and responsible AI practices is preferred.
- Experience in regulated or mission-driven environments and Azure certifications in AI, data engineering, or cloud architecture are preferred.
