Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and test Android applications for sensor data collection and feature demonstrations.
- Implement and test cross-platform Windows and Linux desktop tools with graphical interfaces for device control, data validation, visualization, and post-processing.
- Develop Java-based software components and system-level applications using Java, Kotlin, C++, Python, and related technologies.
- Develop software for mobile, wearable, and smart-glasses prototype and reference platforms.
- Contribute to end-to-end data processing pipelines and monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize production data workflows.
- Support global data collection campaigns, including field data collection and troubleshooting applications on employee devices.
- Support sensor feature commercialization through algorithm performance validation, customer data analysis, and customer triage.
- Collaborate with systems, software, integration, test, and global cross-functional teams across the product lifecycle.
- Participate in occasional travel, physical or sports-related activities, and handling equipment with significant weight.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field, or an equivalent higher-level qualification.
- At least 2 years of software engineering or related work experience, with an alternative path of a master's degree and at least 1 year of experience or a PhD in a related field.
- Hands-on experience developing Android applications using the Android SDK and preferably Android Studio.
- Strong object-oriented programming skills in Java or Kotlin and the ability to deliver production-quality software.
- Proficiency developing system-level applications and tools in C++ and Python for internal and customer-facing use.
- Fluency with Git and GitHub.
- Experience developing customer-facing demonstration and test applications, including rapid prototypes and reliable user experiences for non-engineering audiences.
- Strong written and verbal English communication, interpersonal, organizational, analytical, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Preferred experience includes AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform; Android Enterprise, MDM, MAM, or Intune; React Native; desktop GUI applications; Linux and Windows; Android Wear/Wear OS; or Android XR.
- At least 2 years of academic or work experience with programming languages such as C, C++, Java, or Python, with equivalent experience considered.
