Responsibilities
- Design and develop scalable, performant, usable features across NETGEAR’s Android applications.
- Own initiatives end to end and coordinate with cloud and embedded teams to deliver cohesive product experiences.
- Build and maintain unit, integration, and UI test coverage while performing manual QA.
- Contribute to architecture discussions, technical direction, code reviews, and improved engineering practices.
- Champion modern CI/CD and DevOps workflows, including GitHub Actions.
- Mentor engineers and act as an informal technical lead and facilitator.
- Use AI development tools throughout the software development lifecycle.
Requirements
- 7+ years of Android development experience using Kotlin and Java, including leadership on cross-functional projects.
- Strong knowledge of Android OS architecture, platform services, system-level integrations, and scalable application design.
- Proficiency with Material Design and modern, responsive user interfaces.
- Experience working across mobile, embedded, and cloud systems and developing clients for APIs and microservices.
- Strong proficiency with AI-augmented workflows for code generation, test generation, and code review.
- Experience with DevOps pipelines and tools including GitHub, GitHub Actions, and Fastlane, plus secure software delivery.
- Comfort with unit, integration, UI, and manual QA testing.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent hands-on experience.
- Preferred experience includes Node.js, JavaScript, Python, React Native, Flutter, Backend-for-Frontend layers, IoT, Bluetooth, WiFi, networking hardware, subscription products, and both iOS and Android.
