Responsibilities
- Design and develop features for NETGEAR's Android applications focusing on scalability and usability.
- Take ownership of initiatives end to end, coordinating with cloud and embedded teams.
- Build and maintain test coverage alongside manual QA testing.
- Apply engineering judgement to solve complex problems and propose improvements.
- Contribute to architectural discussions and shape the app's technical direction.
- Champion best practices including code reviews and modern CI/CD workflows.
- Mentor and support other engineers, acting as an informal technical lead.
- Seek out new tools and ideas, including effective use of AI development tools.
Requirements
- 7+ years of Android development experience using Kotlin and Java.
- Strong knowledge of Android OS architecture and system-level integrations.
- Solid design and architectural skills for building scalable applications.
- Proficiency in Material Design and user-centric UI development.
- Experience working across mobile, embedded, and cloud systems.
- Strong proficiency with AI-augmented development workflows.
- Experience with DevOps pipelines and secure software delivery.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication skills for articulating technical direction.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
