Responsibilities
- Conduct independent testing and evaluation of new and existing systems, including security testing, vulnerability scanning, configuration reviews, and test planning.
- Identify vulnerabilities and develop methods for detecting and preventing host- and network-based attacks.
- Perform reverse engineering and advanced analysis of suspect source code and improve security event detection systems.
- Investigate security events by analyzing log files, implementing response procedures, and maintaining security documentation.
- Develop attack and defense methodologies for high-risk computer networks.
- Write scripts and software utilities to automate security analysis.
- Collect, process, review, analyze, and produce electronic data for discovery, audits, and investigations.
- Perform data quality checks, prepare final deliverables, and document collection procedures.
- Maintain procedures and devices in compliance with SOX, PCI, and other regulatory requirements.
- Provide information to auditors and liaise with legal, outside counsel, IT, and internal stakeholders.
- Potentially plan, assign, monitor, and review project work and contribute to employee professional development.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline and generally 5–8 years of related experience, or a master’s degree and generally 3–5 years of related experience.
- Certification is required in some areas.
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex problems, make decisions with incomplete information, and independently determine solution approaches.
