Responsibilities
- Prepare and execute manual test cases based on business and functional requirements.
- Perform functional, regression, integration, and smoke testing; report, track, and verify defects.
- Support test automation initiatives using Java, JavaScript, and BDD frameworks.
- Prepare test data and validate test environments.
- Collaborate with developers, business analysts, QA engineers, and Test Leads on application functionality and quality expectations.
- Apply quality engineering practices including test planning, defect management, and test documentation.
- Participate in sprint planning, daily stand-ups, reviews, and retrospectives.
- Use GitHub, CI/CD pipelines, GitHub Copilot, and Claude in software development and testing workflows.
Requirements
- Pursuing or recently completed a bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Electronics, or a related field.
- Strong understanding of software testing fundamentals and SDLC/STLC concepts.
- Basic knowledge of Java or JavaScript programming.
- Familiarity with SQL and relational databases.
- Understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies.
- Analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with eagerness to learn automation testing and quality engineering.
- Preferred: exposure to Selenium, Playwright, Cypress, Cucumber, Git/GitHub, Postman, CI/CD, GitHub Copilot, or Claude.
- Preferred: personal automation projects, a GitHub portfolio, hackathon or coding competition participation, or relevant software testing and automation certifications.
