Base Salary
$44k - $185k/yr
Responsibilities
- Build data pipelines and machine learning workflows using Python.
- Develop, train, and deploy machine learning models using frameworks such as PyTorch or scikit-learn.
- Orchestrate large-scale data solutions using Spark and Kubernetes.
- Build and scale intelligent data pipelines and distributed systems that support performant and reliable AI platforms.
- Participate in Cisco’s 12-week summer internship program, including learning sessions, networking, and engagement with organizational leaders.
Requirements
- Currently enrolled in an associate’s or bachelor’s degree program and expected to remain enrolled after the internship.
- Pursuing education in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, or a related field.
- Proficiency in Python and core data structures demonstrated through at least one academic, personal, or professional project.
- Exposure to at least one ML framework: TensorFlow, PyTorch, or scikit-learn.
- Working knowledge of at least one big-data or distributed-processing tool: Spark, Hadoop MapReduce, or Flink.
- Hands-on experience with at least one deployment or orchestration tool: Docker or Kubernetes.
- Preferred: experience deploying or productionizing trained ML models beyond coursework-level training and evaluation.
- Preferred: exposure to AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
- Preferred: understanding of at least two of scalability, reliability, fault tolerance, or data consistency.
- Preferred: working knowledge of at least two of load balancing, consensus algorithms, or inter-service communication.
