Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain distributed storage, compute, and service platform components.
- Build and improve storage engines, query and compute execution, RPC/networking layers, and distributed coordination capabilities.
- Collaborate with research and engineering stakeholders to translate data-access, compute, and performance requirements into implementations.
- Investigate and resolve production correctness bugs and performance regressions.
- Participate in code reviews, system design, feature development, and productionization.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
- At least 2 years of professional software engineering experience.
- Strong knowledge of data structures, algorithms, memory management, concurrency, I/O, and systems-level design.
- Proficiency in modern C++ including C++11 or higher and the STL.
- Working knowledge of UNIX/Linux development environments.
- Experience using AI-assisted coding tools such as Claude Code or OpenCode.
- Clear and proactive communication skills and the ability to work with a globally distributed team.
- Python skills are preferred.
- Exposure to distributed systems concepts such as replication, sharding, and consensus is preferred.
- Exposure to query or compute engines, columnar or analytical storage formats, and RPC frameworks is preferred.
