Responsibilities
- Lead live site management, cloud production management, production readiness, change governance, incident response, problem management, and operational risk reduction.
- Define and improve SRE practices involving SLIs, SLOs, error budgets, capacity planning, reliability engineering, and service health measures.
- Advance observability through logging, metrics, distributed tracing, dashboards, alerting, and automated anomaly detection.
- Shape AWS cloud architecture, cloud cost optimization, resiliency, multi-region operation, active-active deployment, failover/failback, and disaster recovery strategies.
- Evolve infrastructure-as-code and automation practices while developing platform tooling and enforcing code quality, testing, and code review standards.
- Lead major incident triage, root-cause analysis, blameless postmortems, corrective actions, and elimination of recurring production issues.
- Establish production readiness standards, operational controls, runbooks, dashboards, and measurable availability, performance, and resiliency objectives.
- Lead responsible adoption of enterprise-authorized AI-assisted engineering tools, including validation for correctness, performance, security, and compliance.
- Set architectural standards and communicate complex technical strategy and production health insights to engineering and business leadership.
Requirements
- Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts and 5+ years of applied experience.
- Production engineering experience spanning AWS platform engineering, SRE/operations, and software development, with leadership ownership of critical services.
- Deep hands-on production experience with AWS ECS and EC2, including architecture, deployments, scaling, capacity management, AMI strategy, patching, and performance tuning.
- Expertise in AWS networking and security, including VPC architecture, routing, Security Groups/NACLs, ALB/NLB, DNS/TLS, and IAM least privilege.
- Strong Infrastructure as Code expertise with Terraform and CloudFormation/CDK, including reusable modules, environment promotion, state management, drift detection, and safe rollout patterns.
- Strong SRE leadership experience defining SLIs and SLOs, setting alerting standards, applying error budgets, and driving reliability roadmaps.
- Advanced observability and incident response experience with Dynatrace, Splunk, and Grafana, including tracing, service-flow analysis, SPL log correlation, dashboard tuning, and MTTR reduction.
- Demonstrated software engineering and code-commit capability for automation and platform tooling, along with strong code quality, testing, and code review practices.
- Experience establishing production readiness standards, operational controls, runbooks, dashboards, and service health objectives.
- Experience leading approved AI-assisted software development practices and coaching engineers on secure, compliant, and responsible AI use.
- Preferred experience with LLMOps and bot operations, including evaluation harnesses, prompt regression testing, rollout strategies, monitoring, and bot-service incident handling.
- Preferred experience with advanced ECS capacity and deployment patterns, security hardening and governance, secrets management, KMS, vulnerability management, and FinOps optimization.
