Responsibilities
- Perform subsystem definition, preliminary and detailed design, design implementation, subsystem and system integration, and testing.
- Participate in software requirements reviews, preliminary and critical design reviews, integration readiness reviews, and software acceptance reviews.
- Research problems and develop software solutions.
- Support the development and sustainment of the U.S. Navy’s Aegis Weapons System.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics, or a related field, or equivalent related work experience.
- U.S. citizenship and a current active Secret DOD clearance.
- Two to eight years of experience in real-time mission-critical development, maintenance, or support in open/layered architecture environments, including relevant operating environments, model-based tools, information assurance, tools development, safety analysis, real-time system data analysis, problem analysis, and system integration.
- Experience with object-oriented design and development, design patterns, software insulation techniques, and plugins.
- Experience developing software with Java, C++, or Python.
- Experience with Windows, Solaris, Linux, Solaris or other UNIX scripting, MS Office, IDEs such as Eclipse, UML syntax, driver-based test environments, and automated test environments.
- Familiarity with ClearCase, JIRA, xUnit Framework, JUnit, CPPUnitLite, CMMI Level 5 lifecycle processes and procedures, and assemblers is preferred.
