Base Salary
$130k - $284k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and evolve scalable test frameworks, automation libraries, and developer-facing quality tools.
- Define test strategies, coverage goals, acceptance criteria, test data approaches, and reusable testing patterns across teams.
- Build utilities, harnesses, mocks, stubs, and data solutions for APIs, backend services, full-stack systems, and distributed environments.
- Develop specialized test strategies for conversational AI systems across Voice and Chat channels, including multi-turn conversations, intent recognition, orchestration logic, and agent interactions.
- Integrate automated quality checks into CI/CD pipelines and improve engineering feedback loops.
- Establish quality engineering standards, document patterns, influence architecture, and promote maintainable automation practices.
- Investigate complex defects, analyze failure trends, support root-cause resolution, and identify scalable quality improvements.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship, pair with developers, and contribute directly to implementation on complex testability challenges.
Requirements
- 7+ years of experience in software development, test engineering, or quality engineering, including significant SDET or developer-led test infrastructure experience.
- Strong programming skills in one or more languages such as TypeScript or Java.
- Deep experience building test frameworks, automation infrastructure, harnesses, or developer tooling.
- Strong understanding of software design, object-oriented design, distributed systems, debugging, APIs, and maintainable code practices.
- Experience supporting quality across backend services, APIs, and full-stack systems and integrating automated testing into CI/CD workflows.
- Experience defining technical standards or reusable solutions for multiple teams and influencing technical direction as a senior individual contributor.
- Strong communication skills, documentation ability, mentoring experience, and ability to articulate quality strategy.
- Preferred experience includes conversational AI, AI agents, Voice and Chat testing, API testing, mocking, contract testing, developer tooling, service virtualization, performance or resiliency testing, AI or LLM response evaluation, and regulated or large-scale enterprise environments.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience; alternatively, a high school diploma plus 4 years of relevant work experience.
