Responsibilities
- Perform audits and reviews of software development, verification, and quality assurance activities for compliance with industry, contractual, regulatory, and internal requirements.
- Approve software planning documents and software deliverables for release to military and commercial customers.
- Execute software process assurance across system lifecycle activities.
- Support customer, regulatory, and certification-body audits, including FAA, TCCA, and AS9100 audits.
- Generate Software Quality Assurance records and collaborate with development teams to resolve non-conformances and process deviations.
- Drive process improvements and defect elimination within the Software Quality Assurance function.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, or a related field, with at least 5 years of progressive avionics software engineering experience, or 3+ years with an advanced degree.
- At least 3 years of experience with DO-178B/C certification, DO-330, DO-331, DO-332, ARP-4754, FAA SOI, and/or TSO certification for safety-critical airworthy embedded systems.
- At least 3 years of experience defining and validating system/software requirements, prototyping application architectures, performing low-level design, and developing software.
- At least 3 years of experience with ARINC communications, including ARINC 429, 661, 664, and 615A.
- At least 3 years of experience with Embedded C programming, debugging, troubleshooting, hardware-software system integration, Ethernet, and ARINC communications.
- Active and existing DoD Secret security clearance required after day one, with the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government security clearance; U.S. citizenship required.
- Preferred qualifications include control systems development, safety-critical software development, jet engine control and diagnostic system architectures, and control logic design experience.
