Responsibilities
- Lead or drive migration of legacy SAS data-preparation jobs to Python-based data engineering frameworks.
- Analyze SAS scripts, data feeds, workflows, logic, and dependencies.
- Translate and re-engineer SAS jobs into scalable Python data pipelines.
- Use Python, Pandas, data frames, SQL, and Google Cloud Platform for data transformation and pipeline integration.
- Collaborate with data analysts, data scientists, and engineers to validate and test converted workflows.
- Optimize workflow performance and ensure data quality and consistency.
- Document migration processes, coding standards, and pipeline configurations.
- Provide guidance and support for testing, validation, and production deployment.
Requirements
- At least 7.5 years of experience with Python.
- 15 years of full-time education.
- Deep Python experience and experience with Google Cloud Platform.
- Strong knowledge of data transformation workflows, database systems, and ETL best practices.
- Hands-on experience with Pandas, data frames, and SQL on Google Cloud Platform.
- Experience with modern Python frameworks and libraries.
- Proficiency with version control systems, particularly Git.
- Ability to write clean, maintainable, and efficient code.
