Responsibilities
- Build components and features within established microservice, event-driven, or component-based architectures.
- Write clean, compilable code and unit tests while meeting team quality standards.
- Reproduce, diagnose, and fix bugs in well-defined tasks with support from senior engineers.
- Respond to low-priority support tickets and participate in supervised on-call rotations.
- Add logging and basic observability to help diagnose production issues.
- Maintain Jira tickets, follow the team’s development process, and participate in standups, backlog grooming, and demos.
- Use AI tools such as Cursor responsibly while validating all generated output.
- Update and maintain accurate technical documentation.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science from a reputed institution and 0 to 1 year of professional experience.
- Ability to write clean, maintainable, tested code in at least one of Java, Python, or TypeScript/JavaScript.
- Understanding of data structures, algorithms, software design, unit testing, and the testing pyramid.
- Basic understanding of IAM, role-based access control, secrets management, and applicable compliance requirements such as PCI or SOC.
- Familiarity with Git, pull requests, existing CI/CD pipelines, and diagnosing build failures.
- Focused communication, willingness to seek help, receptiveness to code review, and ability to adapt across project tasks.
- Preferred: degree in computer science or software engineering, internship or co-op experience, cloud fundamentals, Docker exposure, experience navigating existing codebases, and awareness of AI tools and prompt design.
