Responsibilities

  • Define and implement technical strategies and architecture for software development projects.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to team members.
  • Design, develop, test, and maintain system solutions.
  • Ensure adherence to development best practices, standards, and regulatory requirements throughout the software development lifecycle.
  • Develop and integrate APIs for data exchange using RESTful services.
  • Produce and maintain thorough technical and functional documentation.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support successful project outcomes.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies and methodologies to improve software development processes and capabilities.

Requirements

  • University degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent working experience.
  • At least 7 years of Progress OpenEdge experience within the financial services industry.
  • Strong expertise in software architecture, design patterns, development methodologies, OpenEdge ABL (Progress 4GL), and object-oriented programming.
  • Expertise in relational database management systems.
  • Strong understanding of RDSP and RESP, including eligibility, contributions, government grants, and bonds.
  • Experience developing and integrating APIs using RESTful services.
  • In-depth knowledge of mutual fund and business processes, government registered plans, and relevant financial regulations.
  • Strong decision-making, complex problem-solving, communication, technical writing, and documentation skills.
  • Current work authorization for Canada is required.
