Responsibilities
- Define and implement technical strategies and architecture for software development projects.
- Provide technical guidance and support to team members.
- Design, develop, test, and maintain system solutions.
- Ensure adherence to development best practices, standards, and regulatory requirements throughout the software development lifecycle.
- Develop and integrate APIs for data exchange using RESTful services.
- Produce and maintain thorough technical and functional documentation.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support successful project outcomes.
- Evaluate emerging technologies and methodologies to improve software development processes and capabilities.
Requirements
- University degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent working experience.
- At least 7 years of Progress OpenEdge experience within the financial services industry.
- Strong expertise in software architecture, design patterns, development methodologies, OpenEdge ABL (Progress 4GL), and object-oriented programming.
- Expertise in relational database management systems.
- Strong understanding of RDSP and RESP, including eligibility, contributions, government grants, and bonds.
- Experience developing and integrating APIs using RESTful services.
- In-depth knowledge of mutual fund and business processes, government registered plans, and relevant financial regulations.
- Strong decision-making, complex problem-solving, communication, technical writing, and documentation skills.
- Current work authorization for Canada is required.
