Responsibilities
- Own Cheiron’s frontend quality, standards, consistency, architecture, component patterns, design system, coding conventions, review culture, and refactoring.
- Bridge Product, Design, and Engineering to ensure product goals and design intent are accurately reflected in frontend implementation.
- Build trustworthy AI-agent UX for streaming responses, citations and evidence, multistep progress, errors, retries, and user feedback loops.
- Own pre-release design QA, including responsive behavior, accessibility, interaction states, and pixel-level polish.
- Directly implement core screens and interactions using React, TypeScript, Tailwind CSS, and modern JavaScript.
- Guide and review frontend contributions from other engineers, including full-stack engineers, and improve team frontend capabilities.
- Collaborate efficiently in English with distributed teams in the United States, Korea, and other regions.
Requirements
- At least four years of frontend engineering experience with React, TypeScript, Tailwind CSS, and modern JavaScript.
- Deep understanding of component architecture, design systems, state management, API integration, and performance optimization.
- Experience owning frontend quality and standards for a product and reviewing or guiding other engineers’ frontend work.
- Ability to implement responsive, accessible, production-quality interfaces from design specifications, including detailed interaction and pixel-level polish.
- Hands-on experience integrating AI or LLM-based products and solving UX challenges involving streaming, nondeterministic results, long-running tasks, and citations.
- Active use of AI coding tools such as Claude Code or Cursor.
- Ability to prioritize independently and ship quickly in an environment with incomplete specifications.
- Professional English communication skills for documentation, verbal collaboration, and code review.
- Preferred experience building and governing an internal design system or component library from scratch.
- Preferred experience with data-heavy interfaces, complex tables, virtualization, large-result rendering, or document and form interactions.
- Experience with Next.js, Vite, React Query, Zustand or Redux, Storybook, Playwright, or Vitest is preferred.
- Enterprise SaaS or pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or healthcare product experience is preferred.
- Seed-stage or early-stage startup experience is preferred.
