Responsibilities
- Build and manage direct integrations with local payment schemes, banks, and regional payment providers.
- Define technical direction through system design, roadmap input, and code and design reviews.
- Collaborate with regional and global engineering teams to integrate local solutions into Wise’s worldwide platform.
- Participate in on-call rotations and address incidents to maintain platform availability and security.
- Work with product managers, designers, and engineers on product vision and regional expansion.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Senior Software Engineer delivering high-quality, scalable systems.
- Deep technical expertise in backend development and microservices architecture.
- Experience designing and building software systems and collaborating on technical designs.
- Ability to provide constructive feedback in code and design reviews.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to break down complex challenges.
- Experience with payments systems, money movement, financial integrations, or the fintech/payments industry is preferred.
- Java proficiency and experience using LLMs such as Claude Code to enhance software development are preferred.
Benefits
- Starting salary of £111,000 to £145,000 plus RSUs.
