Responsibilities

Build a fast, distributed query engine using Kotlin and Apache Calcite.
Develop algorithms to parse and transpile the MAQL internal query language into SQL.
Design APIs and write high-quality, test-driven code.
Collaborate with Product, QA, and Architects in a product-focused engineering team.
Influence technical solutions, best practices, API design, and product direction.
Take end-to-end ownership of backend features and contribute to scalable data processing architecture.

Experience delivering a variety of backend features.
A robust background in computer science and experience with object-oriented programming.
Interest in clean software architecture and solving complex algorithmic problems.
Good spoken and written English.
Strong focus on technical excellence, solution quality, ownership, initiative, and constructive collaboration.
Working knowledge of open-source data technologies is preferred.
Experience with database engines and big data is preferred.
Knowledge of semantic data modeling is preferred.
