Base Salary
$290k - $400k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design the architecture and evolution of Giga’s agent infrastructure while balancing speed, reliability, and complexity.
- Own ambiguous, high-stakes backend projects and drive technical initiatives across the company.
- Make architectural decisions and identify system gaps before they become operational or business problems.
- Set standards for code review, system design, engineering quality, and operational excellence through hands-on work.
- Write production code, own systems, ship solutions, and mentor engineers through collaborative technical work.
Requirements
- Have 7+ years of backend engineering experience and a track record of leading complex projects.
- Demonstrate strong judgment about system design and clearly articulate technical tradeoffs.
- Turn vague problems into clear technical approaches with limited guidance.
- Write excellent code and maintain high engineering standards without becoming a bottleneck.
- Have experience building systems that scale and understand failure modes at different orders of magnitude.
- Be comfortable with uncertainty and motivated by difficult technical problems.
