Responsibilities
- Learn and apply software development principles while collaborating with the engineering team.
- Design, develop, test, and maintain software systems and applications for enhancements and new products.
- Write clean, maintainable code and contribute automated tests while following coding standards and development processes.
- Participate in code reviews, team meetings, status updates, and cross-functional collaboration.
- Progressively handle more complex tickets with guidance from experienced engineers.
- Use AI tools for code generation, testing, debugging, optimization, and repetitive-task automation.
- Follow software retirement processes and continue developing technical and domain expertise.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a closely related field.
- 0–2 years of professional experience.
- Knowledge of at least one programming language and general understanding of software design principles and development tools.
- Working knowledge of code versioning tools such as Git.
- Ability to learn quickly, accept and act on feedback, seek help early, and work collaboratively.
- Good written and verbal communication skills, including communication with cross-functional teams.
- Based in Melbourne and able to work from the Melbourne office three days per week.
- Prior internship, placement, or early professional software engineering experience is desired.
- Experience with web application development is desired.
- Familiarity with Agile or Scrum methodologies and DevOps tooling is desired.
- Ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences is desired.

- Base salary range of $64,600–$100,100 AUD per year.
