Responsibilities

  • Develop and evolve forwarding-plane and platform software for SD-WAN and edge routing platforms.
  • Collaborate with hardware teams on platform bring-up, low-level drivers, and Network Interface Module integration.
  • Design, implement, and maintain ROMMON and bootloader software for secure and reliable system initialization.
  • Develop and tune high-performance forwarding-plane software.
  • Implement and optimize Layer 2 networking protocols and features.
  • Analyze performance bottlenecks across kernel, hardware-abstraction, control-plane, and hardware layers.
  • Use AI-assisted coding tools, static analysis, test automation, and modern IDE workflows to improve development quality and speed.

Requirements

  • 8–12 years of industry experience in end-to-end networking software development.
  • Experience with platform software, system software, kernel and user-space drivers, bootloaders, BIOS, and control-plane/data-plane performance tuning.
  • Strong C/C++ systems programming experience in Linux environments.
  • Experience developing device drivers, working with RTOS/Linux kernels, and understanding hardware-software interfaces.
  • Understanding of routing architectures and Layer 2 protocols such as Ethernet, VLANs, and STP.
  • Experience with ROMMON, bootloaders, hardware bring-up, and board support packages.
  • Ability to debug complex issues across hardware, firmware, and software layers.
  • Experience with LAN/WAN communication interfaces and Layer 2/Layer 3 technologies.
  • Experience with AI/ML techniques and development tools such as code assistants, static analysis tools, and test automation.
  • Preferred: knowledge of PHY, MAC, MACsec, DPDK, kernel bring-up, platform/network management software, cloud networking, I2C trace analyzers, PCIe, x86 or ARM assembly, instruction sets, ABIs, GDB, Arium, and BDI.
