Responsibilities
- Own multiple software components and contribute to feature requirements, architecture, design, and development.
- Develop platform software for next-generation data center switching products, including BIOS, UEFI, embedded software, and Linux drivers.
- Develop SDKs for feature-rich network ASICs and support chassis management and hardware peripherals.
- Collaborate with customers, product marketing, hardware and software engineering, testing, escalation, and support teams.
- Debug complex hardware and software issues using hardware and memory debugging tools.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree plus 10 years of related experience, master’s degree plus 6 years, or PhD plus 3 years of related experience.
- Solid conceptual and practical knowledge of BIOS and embedded product development.
- Experience with hardware boards, board layout, BIOS architecture, and platform development.
- Development experience with BIOS, GRUB, U-Boot, Linux device drivers or kernel loadable modules, networking stacks, or memory models.
- Experience with PCI, I2C, SPI, HiGig, FPGA, CPLD, GPIO expanders, chassis management, and related peripherals.
- Knowledge of ASIC forwarding, Linux drivers, and third-party ASICs or network processors is highly desired.
- Experience with standards and technologies including XAUI, SGMII, SerDes, and MSA.
- Proficiency in C and familiarity with lower-level assembly language.
- Understanding of UEFI architecture and UEFI driver development.
- PCIe, SATA/NVMe, USB, SPI, and I2C development experience on x86 and ARM platforms.
- Strong lower-level debugging skills across hardware and software.
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, engineering, or electrical engineering is preferred.
