Responsibilities

  • Develop embedded firmware and software from system architecture through high-volume production.
  • Design and implement HIL/SIL testing frameworks to validate robust and fail-safe embedded code.
  • Collaborate with electrical, mechanical, industrial design, V&V, platform architecture, product management, and product design teams.
  • Architect and implement product features from initial concept through productization.
  • Debug hardware and software integrations and maintain platform robustness through structured bug management.
  • Maintain technical and code documentation and communicate design intent and progress.
  • Contribute to product vision, execution, quality, efficiency, and cross-functional project leadership.

Requirements

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field, or exceptional equivalent ability through experience.
  • 6+ years of embedded systems and embedded software development experience.
  • Very strong embedded programming skills in C, C++, Python, or comparable languages.
  • Experience developing embedded Linux and/or RTOS systems.
  • Strong electronic laboratory, system debugging, schematic, and electronic systems skills.
  • Proficiency with Git for version control and collaboration.
  • ARM SoC development experience.
  • Experience with wireless protocols such as BLE, Mesh, and Zigbee.
  • Experience with schematic capture and board layout using Altium.
  • Experience with safety and radio compliance testing.
  • Strong communication, documentation, organization, problem-solving, independent learning, and cross-disciplinary collaboration skills.
  • Preferred qualifications include startup experience, overseas vendor and manufacturing experience, mentoring or cross-functional leadership experience, RF design familiarity, Swift experience, autonomous systems, machine learning, or energy systems experience, and relevant personal projects.
  • Experience setting up and deploying AI-assisted testing systems is a bonus.
