Responsibilities
- Lead the design, development, monitoring, and enhancement of customer-facing Autonomous Haulage System services.
- Build and improve capabilities for machine coordination, equipment management, navigation planning, collision detection, and safeguard management.
- Work with product management and customers to understand needs and clarify product requirements.
- Translate product requirements into logical, maintainable, extensible, scalable, and loosely coupled component services with appropriate interfaces.
- Apply software design patterns, scalable cloud architecture, security and data privacy practices, and engineering trade-off analysis.
- Create and improve system analysis, design, and technical documentation.
- Develop automated unit, interface, contract, and system tests.
- Monitor built systems and apply operational excellence practices.
- Mentor software developers and help maintain architectural vision and software quality.
- Occasionally travel internationally.
Requirements
- 5+ years of programming experience with strong Java coding skills.
- At least 2 years of experience leading the design or architecture of new and existing systems, including design patterns, reliability, and scaling.
- Experience building complex software systems successfully delivered to customers.
- Experience as a mentor, technical lead, or engineering team lead.
- Advanced written and verbal English for global team collaboration.
- Preferred: 5+ years of full software development life cycle experience, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.
- Preferred: experience with event-driven microservices and REST APIs.
- Preferred: experience taking a leading role in delivering complex software systems and taking projects from requirements scoping through production operations.
- Preferred: experience with continuous integration and delivery and testing automation.
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent.
