Base Salary
$168k - $210k/yr
Responsibilities
- Set technical direction for multiple teams and align initiatives with business areas and architecture strategies.
- Design and deliver resilient, flexible, and scalable solutions for distributed systems serving large user populations.
- Mentor engineers across teams and maintain a high technical standard across the organization.
- Write, test, instrument, document, and maintain software; participate in pairing and code reviews.
- Collaborate with Product, Design, and Engineering leaders to build new customer experiences.
- Ensure observability, performance monitoring, and error handling across team services.
- Participate in on-call rotations and respond to incidents.
- Focus primarily on backend applications while contributing to mobile and frontend development when business needs require it.
Requirements
- At least 10 years of experience developing digital products in complex environments.
- Deep expertise in distributed systems, microservices architecture, and cloud technologies.
- Proven experience designing and delivering large-scale systems serving thousands or millions of users.
- Strong background in object-oriented or functional programming languages and ability to work across multiple languages.
- Demonstrated ability to lead technical initiatives across multiple teams without direct authority.
- Experience mentoring senior engineers and raising the technical bar across organizations.
- Practical knowledge of agile software development methodologies and previous CI/CD experience.
- Strong communication skills for explaining trade-offs and preventing risks with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Advanced English skills.
