Responsibilities

  • Improve the full service lifecycle from inception and design through deployment, operation, and refinement.
  • Provide pre-launch support through system design consulting, software platform and framework development, capacity planning, and launch reviews.
  • Maintain live services by measuring and monitoring availability, latency, and overall system health.
  • Scale systems sustainably through automation and drive changes that improve reliability and engineering velocity.
  • Practice sustainable incident response and conduct blameless postmortems.
  • Lead projects involving multiple teams and troubleshoot large-scale distributed systems.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 8 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages.
  • 4 years of experience designing, analyzing, and troubleshooting distributed systems.
  • 4 years of experience leading projects involving multiple teams.
  • Preferred experience in computing, distributed systems, storage, or networking.
  • Preferred experience designing, analyzing, and troubleshooting large-scale distributed systems.
  • Ability to debug, optimize code, and automate routine tasks.
  • Excellent problem-solving, verbal communication, and written communication skills.

Benefits

  • Germany base salary of €156000–€159000 EUR, plus a 20% bonus target, equity, and benefits.
